31DC-D30 - Something You've Never Tried Before

Hey y'all!

Ahh... the penultimate day of this month-long challenge, and it's a Friday to boot!  I'm glad to see this week come to a close, and frankly, the month as well.  Today's prompt challenged us to do "Something You've Never Tried Before" and I decided it was a perfect time to try leadlight stamping (as well as clear some jellies out of my untried box).

To start out this design, I painted two coats of Barry M Coconut on all my nails.

I stamped random parts of MoYou London Fashionista plate 11 in Konad Black on each nail.

After protecting my stamping with top coat, I used my smallest dotting tool tips to stipple in the jelly finish polishes and paint my designs.  I used L'Oreal Bananarama Love, Mango Mama, Berry Nice, and VIP Room, as well as Sally Hansen Cotton Candy with this leadlight technique.

This is definitely not a technique for shaky hands (I'd had two cups of coffee before I started, and had some real trouble in some of those tight areas) but if the polish is "jelly" enough, it's pretty forgiving.  It didn't take me as long as I expected it would to color in all the fiddly bits, so I'm definitely interested in trying this again later on.

Have a great weekend, and I'll see ya soon!

Thank you! I was a bit worried about that too, but it actually wasn't too bad. The thing about the jellies is that even if it bleeds over the black lines, it doesn't obscure them, so if you have an image with really thick black lines it should theoretically be easier.
Excellent job for your first time!
