Romantic Roses and Diamonds nail art

Hey y'all!

I'm probably way late for most Homecoming nights, but that's okay, too.  Today I wanted to share with you some romantic roses over a sparkly diamond base that would be perfect for a formal event of just about any occasion!

The look was pretty easy to achieve, and I used four polishes (plus black stamping polish - I used Konad).

L-R: Orly Monroe's Red, Barry M Diamond Glitter and Watermelon, MUA Fever Red

After my last success with a Barry M glitter polish base, I wanted to try again with this gorgeous glitter, and I had a couple of mini reds in my stash to work with.  Because my freehanded roses sort of blobbed together, I rescued the look by grabbing this rose image from my Cici & Sisi plate 12.

Unsurprisingly, the whole look started with a coat of Diamond Glitter over all my nails.  I then came in with my detail brush and attempted to freehand some roses on my middle and ring finger in Monroe's Red and Fever Red.  I was going for a dual-toned look to give it some depth, but ultimately ended up with a bit of a red blobby mess, so I saved it by adding my definition courtesy of the stamp over the blob.

I added the leaves in Watermelon when I was satisfied with my roses, and sealed it all in with SV.

Of course, because this look had a glitter base, I couldn't resist mattifying it

This time I think the matte actually takes something away from the look.  It's definitely softer, and might be a bit more elegant for, say, bridal nails or a more solemn occasion, but the sparkly look is all fun and romance and I definitely prefer it.

As always I love hearing what you think!  Sound off below and let me know which you prefer and how you would wear this look!

Have a happy humpday, and I will see y'all on Friday!
