FingerFood's Daisies - NCC Recreations

Hey y'all!

Happy Friday!  Today we kick off my second month in the Nail Challenge Collaborative, which happens to be celebrating its third anniversary this month!  In honor of 3 years of talented nail artists doing monthly themes, we've decided to use this month's theme to recreate some of our favorite NCC looks from days gone by.  Today I'm recreating a really sweet look done by a former NCC member and an all-around really cool chick, so here's my version of FingerFood's Sugar-Coated Daisies.

31DC-D29 - Blue Base

Hey y'all!

Well, I finally saw the dentist yesterday, and prognosis: root canal.  Fun!  All I can say is that I'm happy that I'm not in the overwhelming pain that I've suffered the past 5 days waiting for that appointment!  Now we can return to regular broadcasting... whatever that means around here.  Today's prompt for the 31DC is Blue Base, so I decided to play around with another abstract technique to create this look.

Blue base marbled smoky nail art, evolving from glossy to matte to stamped with dinosaurs.

31DC-D21 - 3 Shades of Green/Yellow

Hey y'all!

Happy Humpday!  Today's prompt for the 31-Day Challenge is to use 3 Shades of Green and/or Yellow, which I kind of did a couple of days ago in green and I don't have 3 shades of yellow that are far enough apart to actually make a look with them so I am doing green again.  Isn't that exciting?  Pfft.  Whatever.  I don't need your pity.  I decided to make a double-stamping look into a bamboo forest and throw in a yellow accent nail just for SnGs.

31DC-D15 - Green Base

Hey y'all!

We're just about halfway through this 31-day challenge, and the fatigue is starting to show on me, but I still feel like I'm accidentally coming up with some cool looking nail art, so on I persevere.  Today's prompt is Green Base, so I grabbed a handful of green polishes in different finishes, and went to work adapting an older technique to suit my purpose.

12DOC: Silver Bells Glitter Gradient

Hey y'all!

Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe that in just ONE WEEK it'll be Christmas Eve?  Insanity!  I am truly sorry if you're still jostling around trying to get preparations made.  Thankfully, I've been able to stay on top of it all and am left with the luxury of enjoying all the decorations and fast-forwarding through the commercials because we only ever watch stuff on the DVR these days.  Speaking of decorations, I showed you some on Monday, and today I've taken the 12DOC Glitter prompt and turned it into decorations as well, sort of.  Here is my silver bells purple glitter gradient look.

12DOC: Tenth Time Lord Leaping!

Hey y'all!

So, on Tuesday I geeked out a little bit with my prompt for the 12 Days of Christmas nail art challenge.  Today, I'm geeking out a considerable amount more, and I'm also trying a new-to-me technique, creating home-made water decals.  Our challenge was to pick one day from the 12 Days of Christmas song and use that as our prompt.  After hemming and hawing for a few hours, I finally decided to give in and go with my gut, and completely twist the challenge to fit my geek needs.  Ergo, I present to you the 10th Doctor (Time Lord), leaping across my nails!

12DOC: Snowflakes

Hey y'all!

Happy 1st of December!  We're on the countdown now to Christmas and New Years, and that means a LOT of seasonal nail art from all of your favorite nail artists.  It seems like we only just finished last month's Challenge Your Nail Art series, and here we are starting a new series today.  For the next 3 weeks, we're going to be visiting the Twelve Days of Christmas, with prompts every other day.  Since this schedule runs roughshod over my usual M-W-F-S posting schedule, I'm going to abandon my normal schedule and hold off swatch posts (with one important exception this weekend), so that I can get all this nail art done and still have time to get my Christmas stuff in gear.  All that said, let's get into this challenge!  Our first prompt is Snowflakes!

"U-Day" Browncoat Nail Art

Hey y'all!

Today marks the 12-year anniversary of the debut of Firefly on televisions 'cross the 'verse, which is a reason to celebrate all on its own, but it has also been cited (by Nathan himself, no less) as the corresponding Earth-That-Was date of Unification Day, when peace was negotiated between the Independents and the Alliance. To commemorate this, and in honor of those fallen at the Battle of Serenity Valley, I've created (yes, another) Browncoat nail art.  What's that?  You're not with me on this?  Ah, curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

House of Flying Daggers Nail Art

Hey y'all!

The second prompt of the Inspire Me Nails Challenge is Movies, and this week's prompt for the Llama Nails Book/Movie Challenge is Action, so I created this nail art based on one of my favorite scenes in 2004's House of Flying Daggers.

Singin' in the Rain nail art - LNMBC

Hey y'all!

DOUBLE POSTING?  WHAT WHAT??  Well, today starts a new Llama Nails Challenge, and this time around the themes are all based on movies and books.  I am going to try pretty hard to get all the prompts completed but, like today, they may not always be terribly involved or intense completions.  I am excited to be able to share some of my favorite movies and books with you via this challenge, and after perusing the list I really couldn't figure out what category to place my all time favorite movie into, so it actually winds up here in the premiere slot.  Here's my tribute to the Comedy film, Singin' in the Rain.

Brazilian Outlined Textured Nail Art - TPTC

Hey y'all!

Today I have another Tri-Polish Tuesday look for you, inspired by a new collection I picked up recently at Asda with a Brazilian theme.  I also wanted to dabble a bit with a new (to me) technique, so I came up with these tri-color outlined textured nails.

Hey, Swatch It! - George Denim Effect Nails

Welcome to my first swatch/review post.  Today I'll be reviewing the George Denim Effect Nail polish, which is a limited edition available in two colors: blue or black.

So I was cruising thru ASDA, which is the UK version of Walmart (sue me, I was tired of shopping at Tesco), and of course I had a little wander through the makeup aisle. I came across this:
