Hey y'all!
It's hump day again, and that of course means it's time for What I Did (with it) Wednesday! This week I created nail art from a swatch of Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Witches Get Stitches. I decided the plummy purple needed a bit of gold and some stamping, so I turned to my semi-recently-acquired chrome finish polishes for help to create this look.

Hey, Swatch It! Octopus Party Witches Get Stitches
Hey y'all!
First off... happy birthday to me! I am turning 39 for the very first time this year (because I will not be going through the door marked "40"), so that's pretty momentous. I'll be giving you a recap of the birthday festivities on Monday, but today is all about the swatching. Last fall, I bought several of Octopus Party Nail Lacquer's Halloween line, and I've already swatched all the full-size bottles I bought, but I also grabbed some minis because I wasn't sure if I would love them or not. Unfortunately they've been sitting in my untrieds for 6 months now, so I figured it was time to show a little love. The first one I have to show you is Witches Get Stitches.

31DC-D14 - Holo
Hey y'all!
Happy Humpday! Today's prompt in the 31-Day Challenge gives us Holo, short for Holographic. There are a few different ways to go about achieving a holographic nail art look, but I opted to take the most traditional (and really, most fun) by selecting two indie polishes stacked with holographic glitter and pairing it with a neat stamping image.

31DC-D10 - Glitter Base
Hey y'all!
Happy Saturday! I hope you're all staying warm and keeping safe. Today's prompt in the 31-Day Challenge is Glitter Base, and I was feeling truly uninspired for a very long time until these started forming in my head while looking at one of my new indie polishes.

31DC-D5 - Dotting Tools
Hey y'all!
Monday's here, and I guess it's officially time to get back to the grind - the holidays are over and we've got a brand new year ahead of us. I hope if you made resolutions and/or goals that you've not already given up on them. Remember that even if you stumble, you can get right back up again and keep going! This year I'm going to start working on getting out and interacting with my new community more than I have been thus far - between the culture shock and my own social anxiety, it has been incredibly hard for me to try to make new friends here locally, so it's become a goal of mine to change that. I have no clever segue from that into today's nail art, so I'll just say that today we're working with the theme of dotting tools, and I created this fun look that I'm calling a peanut butter and jelly dotticure.

Art Gecko Nail Art
*** This post contains items which were sent for review and affiliate links. ***
Hey y'all!
Monday's here again, but luckily Mr. Faff is off work today, so we're going to indulge in some retail therapy... mostly because I need a new leather jacket, so we're off to the shops. However, I can say that my nails will look fabulous doing it! Today I have the cutest nail charms to show you, which I received for review from bornprettystore, and I'm calling this look... art gecko. :)

Hey, Swatch It! Octopus Party Nail Lacquer Ink or Swim
Hey y'all!
Happy Saturday, once again! Can you seriously believe we're already halfway through November, and Christmas is less than 6 weeks away? I just don't even want to think about it! Now that I've put that cheery thought in your head, how about I show you a gorgeous indie polish? Octopus Party Nail Lacquer came on my radar earlier this year, and it appears that I was not alone. Dave has a knack for mixing absolutely gorgeous colors and glitters, and I have truly felt lucky to own the ones I have, including this shiny pretty, Ink or Swim.

Patriotic Nail Art: FingerFood Theme Buffet Challenge
Hey y'all!
One of the challenges that I had been wanting to join up into is the FingerFood Theme Buffet, because I consider Sam a net.buddy and I really admire the work she does, and her themes always look so fun! Now that I'm easing up on feeling obligated to participate every single week/prompt across all of my challenges, this affords me an opportunity to take part in more challenges but on my terms. In short, I'm not going to stress myself to get something done in a rush and post it anyway, even if I hate it. Luckily, my first FFTB attempt is something that I actually do quite like, so I feel no shame in posting this for you as my nail art for the Patriotic prompt.

Hey Swatch It! Octopus Party Ametrine Hour and Star Tar
Hey y'all!
One of the greatest discoveries I made in the first half of this year was a new US indie brand called Octopus Party Nail Lacquer. One of the few indie polish companies run by a dude, OPNL is also 5-free, cruelty-free, and vegan friendly. Add in the fact that the selection has a lot of variety and style, and you've got the makings of a solid polish line. Since the line was new to me, I purchased two different glitter polishes that really called out to me from Dave's Etsy store.

Hols Haul!
Hey y'all!
First off... today's my birthday, but I'm finally going to the doctor to take care of the lingering sinus and sore throat problems that we brought back with us from Texas last month. As promised, I wanted to give you guys a haul post that trip, and today's your lucky day. I certainly did quite the spree, beginning in January by online ordering things and having them shipped to Momma Faff's house. By the time it was all said and done, there were a few too many boxes and she got onto me about it. I couldn't help it - I needed things! Anyway... the morning after we arrived, I sat down to the most wonderful breakfast of coffee and opening boxes, and managed to consolidate everything into one tiny pic that went on my Instagram feed immediately.

Happy Birthday Capt Tightpants, featuring Browncoat Nailart
Hey y'all!
Today should have been a GOT Polish challenge mani, but... well, we all know that I only do that when I feel like it, and the yellow/peach theme was not nearly as enticing to me as celebrating the birthday of my #1 on the laminated list - Mr. Nathan Fillion. I have <3ed him literally since he was Joey Buchanan, and as we all know, a man's Buchananity is what separates him from reptiles and lawn furniture. I even forgive you for that horrible affair with Dorian, Joey. History aside, however, Nathan is best known for two roles anymore - if you know him, it's either as Captain Malcolm Reynolds on "Firefly"/"Serenity", or as Rick Castle on "Castle".
In any event, to celebrate my future baby daddy's 43rd birthday, I did my nails! So much shock! So much surprise!
