Hey Swatch It! LilypadLacquer Orange

Hey y'all!

I've had a polish sitting in my "need to do" basket for a long long time, and I finally had a chance to pull it out and show off its beauty.  This is a brilliant neon orange (I know, I've been doing a LOT of orange lately) from an Australian indie that I purchased from Sally Magpies a while back.  Meet LilypadLacquer Orange.

This gorgeous neon orange shade has a lovely satiny finish on its own which I quite enjoyed.  Application was easy.  Shown in these pics are two coats of Orange over a white base.

As I branch out into more international indies, I'm continually impressed by the quality that can be found out there from independent makers.  I'm pretty certain this will not be my last LilypadLacquer!

Hope you're all off to a fantastic weekend, and I'll see ya soon!

  6. Whoa! That is a really neon orange! Seeing as I love neon colours, I really want this <3 I have a question though... why do people paint white bases before applying the colour? I have never done this before, and I wonder if I am missing something beneficial...

    1. Absolutely you're missing out if you haven't done it before, because especially with bright colors, laying down a white base first allows the true color of the top polish to really shine. Just applying it over a nude nail will darken the final color and not allow it to reach its full potential. If you're in doubt, test it - put a white base on one nail, and leave another bare. Then apply one coat of a bright colored polish on both nails and let your jaw drop at the difference!
