Tri-Polish Tuesday Week 3 - Team Gryffindor!

Hey y'all!

First off, let me say how amazed and honored I am to have gained over 300 Facebook subscribers overnight, thanks to the #sharethelove movement!  I hope you all like what you see!  Secondly, because of this increased attention I had to go back and revise today's Tri-Polish Challenge mani because the original one (done a couple days ago) had some crooked stamping and was not what I wanted all these new subscribers to see.  Over the weekend I was busy swatching out Belle Glamour's Harry Potter Collection, and I recognized a connection to this month's TPC colors.  Today I proudly present my Gryffindor nails!

It's like a little miniature Hogwarts castle.  All together now, "D'awwww."

You'll notice I'm a bit nubbier than of late - during my swatch session, a patch that had been holding for over a month finally gave up the ghost and took a chunk off the end of one nail, so I gave a moment of silence and dutifully went about trimming down the rest of my nails.  On the plus side, though, it had grown out far enough to still leave me with some nail to work with, and now both hands are sporting the same length again (I had a similar situation on the other hand about 2 weeks ago).  However, nails are nails, and I believe that any nails are good nails for showcasing nail art, so there we go.

I began with 3 coats of LA Colors Color Craze Shock on pinky, middle, and thumb, and 2 coats of Sinful Colors Kiss Kiss on ring and index.  On my middle finger, I wanted to use an argyle pattern (because Hogwarts is in Scotland, don't ya know) so I stamped that on in Kiss Kiss using MoYou London Pro Collection Plate 01.

Cuz Gryffindor lions, geddit?
On my ring and pinky, I created a stripe of gold square studs down the center.

My wand isn't made of wood because I'm that kind of special!

I offset those on the thumb and index by using a single round gold stud, which kind of represent the golden snitch.

Everything got sealed in with a good coat of SV, and now I'm ready to go cheer on Harry and Ron and House Gryffindor on the quidditch pitch.

I hope you enjoy this very simple, but very festive look celebrating one of literature's most beloved stories.  If you decide you want to try this look yourself, please make sure you tag me.  I would love to see!  You can find me on just about every social media site under the same name:  FixinToFaff.

    1. Aw thanks hon! One of these days I'll try another freehanded argyle... but the stamping was so much faster and easier!

  2. Wow, you totally rocked those! I love how the nails all look so cohesive, but they are all a little different. Can't wait to see what you conjure up for the rest of the challenge!

    1. Thank ya thank ya! I think studs are one of the quickest ways to take an ordinary manicure and make it a little bit edgier than just adding rhinestones.
