Today's post is just a little update for you, to let you know what's been going on around the Faffdom. After some pretty intense encouragement from my instructor, I started testing the waters for any nail tech positions going here in my little town. As it turns out, a spa owner was looking to bring in a nail tech, and thus began a bit of a whirlwind process.

Hey y'all!
Today I have the privilege of introducing you to the only other British Tex-pat I know. I came across My Dreamality (actually, at the time she was the Expat Frugalista, but rebrands happen as we grow and change) by odd but fortuitous coincidence in the world of beauty bloggers, and quickly fell in love with her adventurous spirit and love of beautiful things. Following PINstuctions: Bacon Pancakes!

It's been a while since I did my last Pinterest challenge, where I follow the PINstructions to see if I can replicate the results as claimed. This past Tuesday was celebrated as Pancake Day here in the UK, and I had the idea to test a pin that I've been drooling over for a long time: bacon pancakes.

Nail Rehab Week 2 and a Day Trip to Somerset

Red White & Blue and Fireworks too!
Hey y'all!
Continuing on my slightly homesick nail art journey, I wanted to sneak in a patriotic Independence Day mani for y'all, with full knowledge that these Brits may kick me out for doing so. In fairness, I drink more tea than I throw in the harbor, and while I still haven't started using all those extraneous "U"s in my writing, I have begun naturally referring to my phone as my mobile instead of my cell, and I now complain about how many adverts interrupt my television, rather than fast-forwarding through the commercials. Expat life really does change a person, yo. Anyway... the upcoming holiday gave me a chance to showcase a beautiful UK indie that I picked up from a shop which closed earlier this year, and I was able to snatch up several bottles before they were gone for good. Additionally, I got to play with a new stamping plate from Vivid Lacquer, so all's good on the home front, and I bring you this installment of Sunday Stamping.

Texas Sunset nail art
Hey y'all!
I was looking through my very small "vault" and came across these nails that I was so proud of when I did them, and managed to not have time that week to post them, so I wanted to share them with you. This look is a bit of an homage to my homesickness, because I know my friends back home are soaking up a lot of heat and some beautiful burnt orange sunsets this time of year.

Nailsxo World Cup Nail Art Competition
Hey y'all!
Emily over at Nailsxo decided to host a friendly nail art competition in honor of the world cup which starts in a little over a week. Each nail artist who signed up was randomly given a country with a team in this year's World Cup, and we were to make nail art in honor of that team. I somehow managed to draw England!

#PlayInMay - Feel a Thing: One Year in England
Hey y'all!
Yesterday marked exactly one year since a girl and her dog set foot in England for goodsies. The time has moved incredibly fast, and my life is SO MUCH DIFFERENT than it was when I left Texas. This weekend, the Axis of Ineptitude wants me to Feel a Thing, and somehow it seemed appropriate that I tell you some of my feelings about this past year.
