You can't scare-a-beetle - LNTC Stamped Nails

Hey y'all!

This week's theme for the technique for the Llama Nails Technique Challenge is stamped nails.  That's a pretty open-ended prompt, so I figured I could have some fun with it.  My final look is remarkably similar to wallpaper with a ginormous bug on it, but that's okay.

My base for this look is a shimmery gold-green shifter, Rimmel Pearly Queen.  I loved the way the green and gold sort of resembled a little Egyptian statuette I have of the goddess Isis, which is why you'll see me using it as a prop in some of these pictures.

I stamped all of my nails with Maybelline Pearl and BM404 to create the backdrop, which, yes, looks like wallpaper.  Whatever.

Then over the center of my accent ring finger, I stamped the scarab beetle from the MoYou Explorer 02 (he's in the middle of his own pattern, which I just wiped off the stamper with a cotton swab dipped in acetone) using Maybelline Blackout.

I decided he just didn't look interesting enough in flat black, so I made a decal of the same image with Pearl and when it was dry, I tried to line it up JUST off center of the original image to give him some depth.  I actually really like how that turned out.

To finish off, I created the super thin french tips with my Kiss black striping polish and topped with SV to seal everything in.

The color-shifting polish underneath adds a bit of life to this antiqued look.  I am forever looking at those Egyptian images on my MoYou London plates and wishing I could come up with some kind of inspiration to use them more often.

What do you think?  Tapestry-chic or time to call the exterminator?  Sound off in the comments!

Hope you're all having a good hump day, and I'll see ya next time!
