Hey y'all!
Happy Friday! Another week is DONE and it's time to slip into something sexy and spend some time out with friends or in with someone special (as applicable). In honor of frisky Friday, I chose to do a sexy lace look for today's 31 Day Challenge prompt of Red Base.
This hot look started with two coats of OPI First Date at the Golden Gate, a beautiful deep red creme. I then taped off half of my nails diagonally, except the ring finger which I left whole, and stamped over it with Vivid Lacquer plate VL028 gorgeous rose lace pattern in Konad Black and applied a coat of KB Shimmer Clearly On Top (hereby known at COT). I've been testing new quick-dry top coats from indies lately, and I love the absolute gloss look of COT, as well as the fact that it absolutely does not smear stamping! WIN!
When I conjured this look up in my head, I remembered having black striping tape, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, so I called in some black microbeads to serve as the lace trim. The look was finished with the black AB rhinestones I reviewed a few months ago.
Top-coating a 3D look like this becomes a bit tricky anyway, and I didn't make that any easier by effectively cutting my nails in half with the microbeads, so you can see a few bubbles and some unevenness in the gloss coat. I attached all the bits with Kiss top coat because it dries a little bit slower and has a thin consistency, and then added a coat of OTD, also because it's pretty thin and I have a lot of it to use up - since I had already protected the stamping with COT, I wasn't worried about it smearing my stamping or the base color. Even though they look a bit "wet" in these pics, overall I think these are totally sexy and would be fun for a night out on the town!

Have fun and be safe this weekend, and I will see you tomorrow!
