31DC-D24 - Decals

Hey y'all!

Today's prompt for the 31-Day Challenge is Decals, and whereas I had intended to do a tutorial for making homemade water slide decals, time got away from me and I seem to have lost my water slide paper anyway, so that's gonna get pushed back, but it IS coming.  Instead I turned to a baggie in the bottom of my nail art kit that contains all the random decals and stickers that I somehow end up with but never use.  I pulled out a set of pretty French Tips and used them to make this look.

I started this look by applying one coat of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby. to my middle finger, and two coats of OPI Bubble Bath to all the others.

I applied the French Tip decal stickers with a pair of tweezers, and pressed down to match the contours of my nails.  Instantly I remembered why I don't like this style of decal - because they never actually fit very well.  Because the natural contour of your fingernail curves and bends, decals designed for the tips of your nails will inevitably pucker and tear and/or crease as you try to smooth them over.  I did the best I could and used an emery board to gently file off the excess decal before sealing them down with SV.

I finished off the look with a coat of Beauty UK matte top coat to all the French Tipped nails, because of course LAMB already has a beautiful satin matte finish.

Hope you're all having an awesome weekend, and I'll see you tomorrow!
