31DC-D13 Inspired By Pinterest

Hey y'all!

My look today is inspired by this Butter London gold french and half moon look from Fashion Week 2014.  I loved the simplicity and thought it would be an excellent palette cleanser from all the heavy nail art looks I've been doing lately.

I began with a clear base coat on all nails.  With Barry M Gold Foil, I created the french tip with the bottle brush, and used a detail brush to draw in half moons at the cuticle.

With a small striping brush, I lined inside the french tips and along the half moons with a stripe of OPI Love.Angel.Music.Baby.  Because the two golds had such a distinct tone difference in the bottle, I was hoping they would stand out against each other better on the nail.  I think because of the matte-shimmer-texture of LAMB, more light bounces off the polish on the nail so it doesn't look quite as dark.

As an accent, I added a line of gold microbeads along the tip of my ring finger, and added a large gold shell stud for no reason other than I wanted an excuse to use one of them.

This is a fun look and I can't help but think it would look really cool for Mardi Gras!  I would probably skip the line of LAMB, though, because it was a little classier without it, I think.
