Hey y'all!
I've had very little inspo for nail art lately - mostly because I've been having some pretty bad sinus crud and that's always fun to experience, talk about, and read about, so really we're all winners here! That said, my GP started me on a new antihistamine and a nasal steroid, so here's to hoping that my nose muscles get all ripped and hawt and appear on a nose fitness magazine cover soon... I think I lost the plot for a moment. Ah, yes. It's Wednesday, and that means it's time to find out What I Did (with it) - and by "it", I mean Saturday's swatch of Essie Sable Collar. Utilizing another Essie fan favorite, my favorite new stamping plate, and a couple of studs, I created this chic copper look.
As you would expect, I started this nail art with two coats of Essie Sable Collar - except I removed it from my ring finger and instead added a coat of Essie Penny Talk. I also pulled out two square metal studs and painted over them with Sable Collar. The original color was a bright blue and I have a whole wheel full of colored studs that I will likely not use in their original colors, so why not customize them to my needs? When the paint was dry, I attached them into a layer of SV over the nail and then sealed them in under another coat just for good measure.
My thumb and middle finger got the stamped treatment with this flowy abstract design from the Apipila Super Plate A. I *LOVE* this plate! Because Penny Talk is a true chrome/foil finish, it makes a great stamping polish as well - admittedly one of the reasons I even thought to put these two beauties together in one look.
So, that's what I did with this swatch session. I really loved these colors together, and I have to admit to being a little disappointed that no one who saw these nails commented on them... not even the many cashiers whose faces were deliberately waved as I brandished my membership cards or cash or credit card for payment. Not even the doctor who asked me to hold my nostril closed and breath out the other one, where of course I flourished my neatly manicured digits. I mean, seriously. What's a girl got to do to make people take less notice of her accent and more notice of her accent NAILS?
I hope all your nails are getting more real-life love than mine are, and I'll see ya Friday with my final NCC look for this month!
