Firey Striping - WIDW

Hey y'all!

I'm back with another What I Did (With It) Wednesday!  Today I'll show you the nail art I created with my swatch of Finger Paints Surreal Sunset - this black and matte striped design that is full of fire!

Striped matte and glossy nail art with firey duochrome shimmer base.

I wanted to play with glossy vs matte finish on top of that gorgeous shifting shimmer/microglitter (I'm still not convinced which it is) and I've really been loving V-shaped designs lately, so I combined all of that for this kind of grungy chic look.

L-R: Kiss Black striper, Salon Perfect Matte striper, Finger Pains Surreal Sunset, Beauty UK Matte Top Coat, Barry M Espresso
With the swatch of Surreal Sunset already on four nails, I added one coat of Espresso to my thumb and then used a dry brush to grungily apply some Surreal Sunset and then added the Matte Top Coat to all nails.

On my ring finger, I used striping tape to mark off a 3-pronged V design and then applied a coat of Espresso before removing the tape.  This pulled up some of the matte topper, so I used my matte nail art striper to re-line the V.

I finished by adding glossy Vs in the same pattern on my other nails, using the black striper on index, middle, and pinky, and glossy top coat on the thumb.

Hope you're continuing to enjoy this series!  Be good, and I'll see ya Friday!
