Hey y'all!
For today's #manimonday, I took Saturday's swatch of Every Month is Oktoberfest and added nail art with a Models Own that I won in a giveaway and some water decals from Born Pretty Store sent me for review.
Though it looks far more complicated, this nail art really only needed two polishes.

This sheet is called the Elegant Necklace Chain Pattern , and it's pattern T301 (Gold). These applied like any other water decal - you begin by cutting out the decal you want to use, removing the plastic protector sheet on top, then soaking the decal in water for 10-20 seconds until it slides off the paper backing. Then you apply it to a dampened nail and position where you want it, then carefully sop off the excess water with a piece of paper towel or other absorb-y material. You can then use either a hair dryer, or in my case, a fan, to thoroughly dry the decal before top coating again to hide the edges and seal it into place.
Although I loved the glossy version of this nail art shown above, I couldn't help but try matting it as well with NYC Matte Me Crazy. I think the results are gorgeous and I'll let you decide for yourself with some side-by-side pictures.
I particularly like how the matte tones down the reddish hue and lets the purple really shine through. It really makes the gold marbling stand out.
I actually haven't done any color editing in these pics. Something about that reddish shimmer in EMIO really freaked out my camera and made it turn my skin a bit reddish as well.
I love the rich look of this manicure and the water decals are definitely a huge part of adding that feel. If you like these, be sure to check out the rest of the nail art supplies selection.
