Watercolor Butterfly stamping - TPTC

Hey y'all!

It's Tuesday, so you know what that means!  It's TriPolish day!  Woohoo!  I was playing around with some Revlon Chroma Chameleons that I picked up in Poundland recently, and thought they'd make a really pretty base for some butterfly nail art - so that's what you get!  I actually picked up 3 of these shades, oddly enough in Aquamarine-blue, Amethyst-purple, and Topaz-green (not intentionally acquired for this month's theme), but I opted not to use the green in this mani.

I love that this look is so soft, yet the colors are duochrome, so the whole look shifts in the light.

I started this look with two coats of Snow Me White to give me a perfect blank canvas for using those shade shifting duochromes.  I knew that it had to be white, otherwise I might not get the blue and purple shades that I wanted, because the Chroma Chameleon line will create different shades depending on the base color.

I used a dry marbling technique to apply the Amethyst and Aquamarine to all of my nails, basically adding blobs of color around the nail and using a small striping brush to swirl them around.

I stamped on a variety of butterfly images off my MoYou London Kitty 01 plate in the Gold and Silver Foils on all my nails except the ring finger.

For my accent nail, I did a double-stamping with the large butterfly wing pattern on BM-424, first in Silver Foil, and then over it with Onyx Black.  Everything was then sealed in with SV.

I love this simple stamping look because the Chromas play really nicely with the metallic foils, so the whole thing just shimmers.  I realize in retrospect that I probably should have turned my accent stamping the other way around, but I think it's just as effective as it is.

I hope you enjoyed this look.  Next Tuesday is the last of this month's blue/purple/green looks, and I'm kind of sad to see it go, but I have a fun stamping look with a UK Indie glitter.  I hope you'll join me!

As always, please take a stroll through the linkup below and check out the other tri-polish designs this week!

Have a great week everyone!
