#2014BloggerChallenge - A Day in Waco, in Pictures!
Hey y'all!
Today's post is another abnormal entry, courtesy of the #2014BloggerChallenge. Gaby has challenged us this week to do a "Week/Day in Pictures" and since Mr. Faff and I recently returned from visiting my homeland, I thought I would share one of our days of adventure.
Essentially, this is the blogger version of "wanna see my vacation pictures?" - only I promise not to show you 14,874 shots of the same majestic tree in sunset lighting. Seriously, I promise.
Instead, I'd like to give you a virtual tour of the day we spent in nearby Waco, Texas, which most people have only ever heard of as the home of Dr. Pepper and the place where David Koresh got bonfired, even though that wasn't actually in Waco but rather in Mount Carmel about 15 miles away, except that the news outlets decided it sounded crazier to say Waco and pronounce it wrong but anyway I am off-topic again and I apologize.

Why Americans call British food bland... #2014BloggerChallenge
Hey y'all!
Today I'd like to talk about food. Not just any food, but mostly the foods that I miss terribly, because as much as I love England and its people, the food just ain't the same! This week Gaby has challenged us with the topic of food, and I thought it was high time that I highlighted some of the things I wish I could get over here across the pond.

Topic 5 for the #2014BloggerChallenge seemed almost too easy when Gaby sent out the announcement, but then I remembered that only a few of us participating are actually nail bloggers. The theme is always open for interpretation, but since I'm already in the nail blogging niche, I thought I would share a very special NOTD with you - my Lucky Summer Dragonflies!

This week, Gaby has challenged us to talk about high end products versus high street products. For my American readers, "high street" roughly translates to "drug store" in terms of cosmetics and beauty supplies. This prompt really is a challenge for me, because I basically only own one high-end product (but more on that further down in the post). I've always found success working with my drug store brands, and I don't believe in fixing something that works, right? So rather than do a comparison type post, I thought maybe I'd list a few of the brands and lines that I love.

#2014BloggerChallenge - Where the Red Fern Grows
Hey y'all!
We're taking a break from nailing again today. This week, Gaby has challenged us to write about a book, any book, read at any time. As a fairly voracious reader, this was a difficult one for me because there are so many to choose from. Ultimately I keep thinking back to one of the books that profoundly affected me as a kid. I'm going to basically tell the entire plot of the story, not because I'm a fan of spoilers, but because you have to know how the book ends to understand why it affected me so. Consider this fair warning.

#2014BloggerChallenge - Skincare
Hey y'all!
The second theme of the #2014 Blogger Challenge is Skincare.
Admittedly, I have not, in the past, done a whole lot in terms of skincare beyond normal cleansing (like, when I shower) and putting on sunscreen if I was going to be continually exposed for more than an hour (because I have fair skin). I never suffered the horrible acne that some of my friends experienced as a teen, and even through my 20s and early 30s a breakout was having 2 spots on my face, which always healed fairly quickly anyway. I diligently removed any makeup I'd put on before I went to sleep, and I never really had any problems.

I was browsing some beauty blogs the other day, as I often do, and came across an intriguing post from Dawn of Sassy Little Nails, where she talked about joining a blogger challenge that sounded like fun, called the #2014BloggerChallenge. The event is the brainchild of Gaby from Another Girly Blog. I ran down the list of participants and saw a lot of familiar blogs, so I opted to join in, and you can too!
